CAREERS IN THE PAKISTAN AIR FORCE
The Major reason of youth joining the AIRFORCE is to be enlisted in the GD (P)branch of the PAF. Here, therefore, above all else, is the selection procedure and other stuff regarding this branch.

Quality is of cardinal importance for the PAF,...quality of equipment, quality of training and above all the quality of its men. That is why the PAF is so selective in choosing the right type of young men to fly the aircraft of the modern age. Those who are selected and successfully go through the very high standard of academic andprofessional training can look forward to a great and rewarding career.

The young men the airforce requires must be intelligent, must possess fine comprehension and assimilation, have strong nerves, flying aptitude, prudent confidence and relentless determination to become fighter pilots. The academic education we impart is of international standards. A vast majority of the PAF's students pass their B SC. in First Division from PAF Academy, Risalpur. Since the complexity of modern warfare can only be mastered by those who understand, interpret and utilize the the present day technological environment to advantage, we enlarge the scope of the pilot's mental horizon by putting at his disposal the most advanced training aids.

Life in the PAF is disciplined and demanding but there are many satisfactions: handsome salary, accommodation @ 5% of pay, free medical care for the entire family and parents, generous leave rules, travel at concessional rates, medical welfareschemes and group insurance, etc. There are sports activities in plenty - swimming, riding, tennis, golf, squash, skiing, etc. Above all the Airforce is delightful because one is always in the company of cheerful, vigorous and dedicated colleagues ready to do their best for each other. To serve in the PAF is a privilege which only those who serve can appreciate.
